Artesia Country Club Dress Code

All members and guests are expected to comply with the dress codes as stated in the Membership and Golf bylaws.

This policy supersedes previous policies and will become effective November 1, 2019.

Below is the expected attire for the Clubhouse and Golf Course:

  • Artesia Country Club Golf Course Dress Code Sport casual: "Presentable Clean Collared Shirts, Pants or Shorts". Casual business attire is recommended.

  • Children under 12 will be allowed to wear T-Shirts in the dining room

  • EXCEPTIONS - The hours of 11 am – 1 pm collarless sleeved shirts will be allowed in the dining room, if and only if, the shirt is not soiled, torn or tattered and is in good taste. FR shirts and scrubs are acceptable during this time frame only. Examples of Acceptable Clothing:

  • Sleeveless shirts with collars for women only (golf). Collarless dress blouses for women are allowed in the clubhouse.

  • Shirts with mock or traditional collars.

  • Hemmed shorts of appropriate length.

  • Traditional slacks, khakis and jeans.

  • Designer warm-up suits.

  • Shoes must be worn and must be presentable and clean.

  • Members using the pool are able to come into the clubhouse to order food and eat by the pool but must wear shirt or cover-up and shorts while placing order in the clubhouse.

Prohibited items of clothing:

  • Tattered, torn or noticeably stained clothing

  • Shorts that can be described as cutoffs, jogging or gym.

  • Under garments showing

  • Collarless or sleeveless shirts for men, including crew neck tee shirts. Women may wear sleeveless but must have a collar on the course.

  • Athletic track or sweat suits, swimwear or scrubs.

  • Any article of clothing displaying an offensive graphic image, statement or profanity.

  • Any footwear that can cause damage to the golf course.

  • Unbecoming clothing, such as too revealing (sheer), un-kept (severe wrinkled) or unsanitary, overexposing of body parts (loose).

  • Club or Gang ‘colors’ or representations.

  • Overly large shorts or shorts worn too far below the belt line.

  • Reversed caps. Caps must be worn with bill facing forward.

*Note: Management is authorized to enforce the dress policy established by the Board of Directors, and from time to time, make determinations regarding inappropriate attire.

Persons in violation of this dress code will be asked to comply or to respectfully leave the premises. The dress code for golf applies to the putting green, driving range, practice areas, pro shop and locker rooms as well as the golf course. Complete lists of acceptable and unacceptable attire are posted in the locker rooms and pro shop. It is a member's responsibility to inform their guests of this policy prior to their visit to Artesia Country Club. Golf attire is permitted in the bar and clubhouse.

PRIVATE PARTIES

Dress code excluding clubhouse or course for parties in the ‘Big Room’ or outside area will be determined by the entity renting the area. The Artesia Country Club reserves the right to overrule as needed. Restrictions include nudity, Club or Gang colors or representations.
